By the Chunshen River, academic waves surged. On March 19-20, aShoulder and Elbow Arthroscopy Technique Elite Training Classwas grandly opened atShanghai Tenth People's Hospital. Shoulder and elbow surgery colleagues from home and abroad gathered together, exploring the subtlety of minimally invasive technology through the integration of theory and practice, and jointly celebrating the grand event of academic exchange.

On the morning of March 19, the training class kicked off with a wonderful speech by Professor Cai Ming, director of the Department of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery of Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital. In his speech, Professor Cai Ming extended a warm welcome to the experts and trainees who traveled from afar, and pointed out: "Shoulder and elbow arthroscopy technology is advancing rapidly. Only through persistent deep cultivation and mutual learning can we serve patients with more precise skills and lead development with more frontier concepts."

In the subsequent theory sharing session, many distinguished guests gathered to discuss subtle topics. Eight special lectures were closely linked, offering both broad high-level perspectives and meticulous clinical thinking.

Professor Cai Ming took the stage first, opening with two topics, "The Role of Patches in Massive Rotator Cuff Tears" and "Assessment and Treatment of Full-Thickness Rotator Cuff Tears Combined with Pulley Injury", eloquently explaining the management strategies for complex lesions; Professor Yang Jianjun provoked deep thought with "Subacromial Impingement Syndrome - Is Our Understanding Really Correct?", and then systematically sorted out "Elbow Arthroscopy Approaches and Basic Knowledge", consolidating the foundation while adding the light of critical thinking. Professor Cong Ruijun, at the intersection of research and clinical practice, demonstrated the power of evidence with a "Randomized Controlled Study of Advanced Anti-Osteoporosis Treatment Improving Tendon-Bone Healing After Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair Surgery", analyzing it point by point; Professor Sun Qi took a different approach, entering from the intersection of anatomy and mechanics, and brought "The Rotator Cuff Suspension Bridge and the Rotator Cuff Crescent: New Perspectives in Anatomy, Mechanics and Clinical Practice", refreshing the listeners. Professor Guan Zhiyuan focused on shoulder instability, offering an in-depth interpretation of "Diagnosis, Treatment and Latest Progress of Bankart Lesions", taking in the frontier developments; Professor Zhou Zezhu then returned to the clinically common lateral epicondylitis, giving a presentation titled "Diagnosis and Treatment of Lateral Epicondylitis" and presenting the details of standardized diagnosis and treatment one by one.

Throughout the theoretical lectures, the speakers on stage spoke brilliantly while the audience listened intently below, sparks of critical thinking frequently erupted, and the academic atmosphere was rich and intense.

On that afternoon, the training class moved to the outpatient department, where trainees closely observed the full process of experts receiving patients, from history taking to physical examination, from image reading to treatment plan formulation, seeing the true expertise in standardization and the skill in details. On March 20, it entered the surgery observation session, where experts fully displayed the essence of shoulder arthroscopy with skilled arthroscopic operation and precise anatomical identification.

This training class not only attracted enthusiastic participation from orthopedic colleagues in many provinces and cities across the country, but also drew foreign colleagues across the ocean, adding an international perspective and diverse critical thinking to this academic feast. Colleagues from all over the world gathered together, discussing techniques under the scope, creating a distinctive atmosphere.

Though only two days, the resonance lingers. The successful holding of this training class not only fully demonstrated the technical strength and academic influence of Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital in the minimally invasive field of shoulder and elbow surgery, but also built a high-level, in-depth academic exchange bridge, transmitting the open, progressive and collaborative philosophy of the hospital's shoulder and elbow surgery to the fullest.
