Procedure Overview
Using suture buttons or suture plates with sutures for elastic fixation of the syndesmotic ligament preserves its micromotion function, facilitating ankle function recovery and avoiding lag screw loosening, breakage, and second surgery.
After creating the bone tunnel, the adjustable suture button loop is passed through the fibula and tibia in sequence via a traction suture, the four-leaf clover plate is threaded onto the loop and placed on the medial side of the tibia, and the loop is tightened to maintain ankle stability.
