Procedure Overview
Arthroscopic Broström anatomic repair is considered the gold standard for treating chronic lateral ankle instability. It preserves normal ankle anatomy and range of motion, does not sacrifice autologous tendons, is relatively simple, and is less traumatic.
Anchors are implanted in the distal fibula, and the ligament is overlapped, sutured, and tightened, or reattached to the bone.
