summary

The anatomic reconstruction technique of   the lateral collateral ligament of the ankle is to reconstruct the anatomic   origin and insertion of the ligament by creating bone tunnels (fibula, talus, and calcaneus) and   then transposing/grafting the tendon to the anatomic alignment of the   original ligament by tendon transposition or grafting in a predetermined   stepwise fashion; the tendon is transposed to the anatomic alignment of the   original ligament by tendon transposition or grafting;

Transplanted tendons include popliteal, femoral, Achilles, and allograft tendons.

Fixation methods include Sutures, Suture   Anchor, Graftloop, and Interference Screw extrusion fixation

The target of the procedure are restoration of ankle stability, no restriction of ankle and subtalar joint   motion, and preservation of the local anatomical integrity of the ankle joint and biomechanical environment.
